MAINTENANCE OF DISCIPLINE
The students are required to observe discipline in the college.
As per ordinance XV-B of the University, the following constitute
breach of discipline:
- Physical assault or thread to use physical force against any
member of
the teaching and non-teaching staff of any Institution/ Department
and
against any student within the University of Delhi.
- Carrying or use of, or threat to use any weapon.
- Any violation of the provision of
Civil Rights Protection Act 1976.
- Violation of the status, dignity,
and honor of students belonging to the
Scheduled Cast and Tribes.
- Any practice, weather verbal or
otherwise, derogatory to women.
- Any attempt at bribing or
corruption in any manner.
- Willful destruction of
institutional property.
- Causing destruction in any manner
of the academic functioning of the
University system .
ANTI RAGGING REGULATIONS
Ragging in any form is strictly
prohibited within the premises of the College and any part of
Delhi University system as well as in public transport.
Any individual or collective act or
practice of ragging constitutes gross indiscipline and shall be
dealt with under ordinance XV-C.
Ragging for the purpose of this,
ordinarily means any act, conduct, or practice by which dominant
power or status of senior students is brought to bear on
students freshly enrolled or students who are in any way
considered junior or inferior by other students and includes
individual or collective acts or practice which:
(I) Involve physical assault or
threat, use of physical force.
(II) Violate the status, dignity and honor of students.
(III) Violate the status, dignity and honor of students belonging
to
Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
(IV) Expose students to ridicule and contempt that may affect
their self
esteem.
(V) Entail verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gestures and
obscene
behavior.
In case any students who has obtained
degrees of Delhi University is found under this Ordinance
committing an act or practice or ragging, he/ she may be subjected
under statue 15 to appropriate action for withdrawal of degrees
conferred by the University.
At the time of the admission every student shall
be required to sing a declaration that on admission he/ she submits
himself/ herself to the disciplinary jurisdiction of the Principal/
Vice- Chancellor and several authorities of the College/ University
who may be vested within authority under the Act, the Statutes, the
Ordinances and Rules to exercise discipline that have been framed
there under by the College/ University. He/ She is expected to honor
this commitment in letter and spirit during his/ her stay at the
College.
The students are advised not to bring outsiders
with them in the College premises. If indulging in activates
resulting in indiscipline, the outsider shall be invariably handed
over to the Police and strict disciplinary action, even leading to
expulsion from the College, shall be taken against the student who
brought such and outsider in the College premises.
