Qualification,
Eligibility Etc. for Admission
Age
Requirement
No person shall be
eligible for admission to the university in the first year of the
Degree course unless he/she is 17 years of age before the 1st
day of October in the year in which he/ she seeks admission. The
Vice-Chancellor may, however, on the basis of the individual merit
relax the age limit upto a maximum period of one year after a
candidate has been admitted by the College and an application made
by him/her through the Principal of the College.
Minimum
Percentage of Marks for Eligibility
The required
minimum percentage of marks obtained at any of the following
examinations in 40% for admission to B.A. and B.Com and 45% for
admission to B.A. (Hons.) Hindi/ Political Science/ Maths and B.Com
(Hons.). Students seeking admission to B.Com (Hons.) must have
passed in Mathematics in Senior Secondary: those seeking admission
to B.Com. must have passed in Mathematics in secondary examinations
(class X).
(I) A candidate
must have passed Senior School Certificate examination (Class XII)
of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi with pass in
four subjects (one language and three best elective subjects one of
which may be an Elective Language or an examination recognized by
Delhi University as equivalent there to.
OR
Pre-University
examination (2 years after 10 years of schooling) of an Indian
University recognized by the University of Delhi.
OR
Intermediate
Examination of an Indian University / Board or an examination
recognized as an equivalent thereto (pass in 4 written subjects)
(II) Indian School
Certificate Examination (12 years) of the Council of Indian School
Certificate Examination, New Delhi (pass in 5 written subjects). The
aggregate marks requirement is to be determined on the basis of one
language and three best subjects out of four.
Note: 1. A student
passing 11 years schooling examination will not be eligible for
admission to any undergraduate course.,
Note: 2. Candidate
who have passed Intermediate Examination of an Indian University/
Board with at least 40% marks in the aggregate (with pass in four
written subjects including English) and also Honours examination in
Prabhakar will be eligible for admission to B.A. (Hons.) Course in
Hindi.
Please note that
mere eligibility will note be a guarantee for admission to any
course.
Marks obtained in
Physical Education, Music, Painting, Commercial Art, Sculpture,
Agriculture, Typing/ Shorthand etc. are not considered as a part of
the aggregate.
Notwithstanding
any thing contained in any other Ordinance, no person who has been
convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude shall be admitted
to a course of study or permitted to take any examination of the
University until a period of two years has elapsed from the date of
the expiry of the sentence imposed on him.
Admission
to II year Course
No direct admission is permissible to II year class
of any course.
Student
from the Board or M.P.
Candidates seeking
admission after passing the Senior School Certificate/ Intermediate
Examination from the Board of Madhya Pradesh will, in addition to
the normal requirements of the proof of their passing the
examination to the satisfaction of the College, be also required to
produce a passport size photograph duly attested by a Gazetted
Officer for their identification at the time of admission in the
College.
Rounding
off of Fractional Marks
Rounding off a
fraction of a mark for determining the eligibility is not
permissible for admission to any course of the University.
Admission
of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Student
15% of the seats
are reserved for Scheduled Caste and 7˝ % for Scheduled Tribe
candidates. The allotment of Colleges for this category of students
will be made by the University. Candidate of this category will be
required to get their names registered at the University. The
University will issue admission slip and the candidates should take
admission to the allotted college. Further information in this
regard may be obtained from the office of the Dean, Students’
Welfare, Delhi University.
OBC
Category
Admission under
the OBC category will be made only after receiving communication in
this regard from the Central Government. The OBC status is to be
determined on the basis of the Central list of OBC notified by the
Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment on the recommendation of
the National Commission for Backward Classes available at the
website of the Commission

Admission of
Children/ Widows/ Wives of Officers and Men of the Armed Forces/
Para Military Personnel killed or disabled in action or while on
duty.
Candidate
belonging to this category will be required to register themselves
at the University. The University will issue Admission slips giving
allotment of admission to the particular College to which they have
been allotted. Further information in this regard may be obtained
from the University office.
Physically
Handicapped Candidates
3% seats are
reserved for Physically Handicapped Candidates as per the University
procedure. Such candidates should register themselves at the office
of the Dean, Students’ Welfare, Main Campus, near University Main
Gate.
Nominees
of the Nepal/ Bhutan Government
Relaxation to the
extent of marks up to 5% in the minimum marks is allowed to nominees
of the Nepal and Bhutan Government to determine their eligibility
for admission to a course.
Admission
on the basis of Sports/ Extra Curricular Activities
Upto 5% of total
available seats may be reserved for Sports and Extra Curricular
Activities. Students will be selected on the basis of their
certificates and testimonials along with their performance at tests
and selection trails.
Those aspiring to
seek admission in this category should fill a separate form
available in the office along with the general admission form. For
admission on the basis of Sports a candidate should have at least
participated and secured I, II, III position in the inter-zonal
tournaments. The verification of certificates and testimonials, and
the selection trials will be held on a date to be notified later.
Students must attach copies of testimonials/ certificates with their
application form. |
